Gospel Music
Nothing puts me into a better mood than to hear sweet gospel music. I have gotten the chance to help out with my praise and worship team at my church Greater Faith Christian Fellowship. I have played the drums there as well, but it is something about lifting up the name of the most high. Oh and when we all get on one accord, you can feel the presence of the Lord, right where you stand. This presence is so comforting; it's like bathing in blessings. I might not have the most magnificent voice to man, but the Lord requires me to just make a joyful noise. When we rob God this time to worship and praise Him we are robbing ourselves as well. The lyrics in the music sets up an atmosphere of worship, and humility, it’s edifying to the mind, and soul.
I love to glorify God and believe that when I sing to him, he is inclining his precious ears. It’s fascinating to know that God loves to hear our voices. Instead of begging for things, offer unto the Lord a sacrifice of praise, thanking him for what he has already done. It is so many things to be grateful for. That's one reason why I enjoy Chapels at CBU. Before anything the students and faculty are ushered into a room filled with worship. I want to be able to go to heaven and worship Jesus with the heavenly host saying HOLY, HOLY, HOLY.
I praise God for the talents he gives to musicians, and for the one's who use their gifts to glorify him. What an awesome thing to do, praising the Holy King, the Bread of Heaven, the Awesome Ruler, the Gentle Redeemer, the Living Truth, Jesus.
The artists that offer some of the music that I enjoy varies. Two in particular are Fred Hammond, and Israel Houghton. I have search all over to find a blog on them but was lead countless times to youtube.com. I have listed there videos form YouTube as a link.
The lyrics and the music carry your heart into the hands of Jesus Christ. I often imagine him inclining his precious ear to listen to the melodies. I adore the Lord and love offering up a sacrifice of praise. Gospel music is therapeutic as well. When I feel down my spirits are uplifted, my mind is transformed, and I forget about my hurting pains and focus on the awesomeness of God. How wonderful he is and how much he loves me, leaves me breathless.
It’s amazing that my major isn’t music, I think it’s because I don’t want to make money in this profession I just want to please the Lord with my mouth. Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord, praise ye the Lord. I offer this blog unto him and pray that who reads it will be inspired to praise the Lord for yet another day that that he has made. Amen!
