The year is coming to a quick end and my wonderful 1st. semester at CBU is closing as well. I have had so much fun writing for The Banner. It has helped me to become the writer that God ordained. I am grateful for all the help and encouragement I recieved from Professor Pearson. I look forward to next semester and all the wonderful stories that will emerge from the bright students in the Journalism Department. I love being a writer and can't get enough of it. I have seen an improvement in my writing as well from being in this Newspaper Production Class. I thank God for CBU and the amazing teachers and staff for their help. This has been such a great semester. The experience that I have gained will help me with my career as a Journalist. This is a time for good journalism and I am glad that I am apart of it. I am glad that God choose me for such a time as this. I will continue to publish the truth and be grateful for all the wonder expericence...
God Bless!

A change is coming for the better if we trust in Jesus

The most historic election of all time took place on November 4th 2008. When America elected Barack Obama as their President. This has been a great victory for everyone; black and white, young and old, male and female. I believe that a change is coming, however some people are not ready for a change. They want things to continue to go on like it has for many many year. My thoughts is that we Americana's should pray like never before for our new leader, his family and for the nation to remain under God. Without the presence of God this nation will be lost regardless of how's in office. I congratulate Obama in his awesome victory. We must believe that we are children of God and conduct ourselves in a way that pleases God. America needs more than just a new President we need a might move of God and the only way that will happen is if we follow this scripture:
2 Chronicles 7:13-25
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
17And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
18Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
19But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
21And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
22And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
We must not lose sight of what's important. Jesus is the savior of this world. He has thee answers to the crisis affecting America and around the globe, not man. He will lead us to victory if we let him.
God's people are not destroyed because of sin, but for the lack of knowledge. I'm trusting God, in him will I find my answers. That's why I love the Lord and am praying earnestly that he save America!
God Bless America.

Gospel Music
Gospel Music
Nothing puts me into a better mood than to hear sweet gospel music. I have gotten the chance to help out with my praise and worship team at my church Greater Faith Christian Fellowship. I have played the drums there as well, but it is something about lifting up the name of the most high. Oh and when we all get on one accord, you can feel the presence of the Lord, right where you stand. This presence is so comforting; it's like bathing in blessings. I might not have the most magnificent voice to man, but the Lord requires me to just make a joyful noise. When we rob God this time to worship and praise Him we are robbing ourselves as well. The lyrics in the music sets up an atmosphere of worship, and humility, it’s edifying to the mind, and soul.
I love to glorify God and believe that when I sing to him, he is inclining his precious ears. It’s fascinating to know that God loves to hear our voices. Instead of begging for things, offer unto the Lord a sacrifice of praise, thanking him for what he has already done. It is so many things to be grateful for. That's one reason why I enjoy Chapels at CBU. Before anything the students and faculty are ushered into a room filled with worship. I want to be able to go to heaven and worship Jesus with the heavenly host saying HOLY, HOLY, HOLY.
I praise God for the talents he gives to musicians, and for the one's who use their gifts to glorify him. What an awesome thing to do, praising the Holy King, the Bread of Heaven, the Awesome Ruler, the Gentle Redeemer, the Living Truth, Jesus.
The artists that offer some of the music that I enjoy varies. Two in particular are Fred Hammond, and Israel Houghton. I have search all over to find a blog on them but was lead countless times to youtube.com. I have listed there videos form YouTube as a link.
The lyrics and the music carry your heart into the hands of Jesus Christ. I often imagine him inclining his precious ear to listen to the melodies. I adore the Lord and love offering up a sacrifice of praise. Gospel music is therapeutic as well. When I feel down my spirits are uplifted, my mind is transformed, and I forget about my hurting pains and focus on the awesomeness of God. How wonderful he is and how much he loves me, leaves me breathless.
It’s amazing that my major isn’t music, I think it’s because I don’t want to make money in this profession I just want to please the Lord with my mouth. Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord, praise ye the Lord. I offer this blog unto him and pray that who reads it will be inspired to praise the Lord for yet another day that that he has made. Amen!

The Great Debates

Praying for our leader!
I hung around wednesday evening at CBU and searched all over for somewhere to watch the last debate for this years presidential election. The great debates were showing in the theatre. KTIE 590AM came out to broadcast live at CBU. I walked in to the theatre to see a gigantic screen on stage and there was senator Obama speaking about his views. This was truly a sight for me a college student.
This is one debate and election that will go down in history. An African-American male running for presidency. Wow! I can truly say that I was excited. People who have never voted before are talking and registering to get their chance of a life time. The last day to register is Oct. 20th 2008. So much excitment, and emotions is going into this years election.
I am glad that I can be apart of this event. I will be in prayer for Obama that he allows God to continue to be the Lord of this great nation. The topic that shook me as a college student was the part about education. How he will allow college students to have $4,000 deducted off their loan payments each year if they do something productive in the community.
It is really a challenge for college students. They have to be careful in what type of career they chose because they will have to pay college loans off. I can't expect to look for a low paying job if I plan to pay back my loans on time. Many times I hear people who want to continue with graduate school but feel that they don't want to heap more loans.
I believe that a change is coming, and I pray to God that it's for the good of us all.
God Bless.

One Windy Morning
Waking up to a morning embraced by the crisp wind hitting your face, as you open the front door is exciting. After a long hot summer, I am so ready for fall and a cold winter. Being born in Janurary explains why I perfer cold tempatures, over the blistering heat. It takes time to adjust. I still saw young girls trying to get one last wear out of there faviorite skirts. I enjoy drinking hot chocolate over ice cream, and the cute boots over sandles. I wish that we will get a white winter in the Inland Empire. When it's cold it brings people together, they seem more calm and friendlier. When it's hot everyone is trying to beat the heat, that means longer drives on the freeway to the nearest beach. I love the smell that comes along with the season change. The smell of apple, pumpkin, and sweet potatoe pie. The smell of blue berry muffins, and homemade cookies. And the best holiday of all time for me at least is Thanksgiving. Talk about good eatting. While the tempature gradually change, keep a sweater in your trunk just to be save. Goodbye summer, hello fall.

Stop Sinning
The profound words echoed through the speakers vibrating the eardrums. Their was slience in the congregation. "Stop Sinning", our pastor said once more. Some one finally yelled "amen".
To often we as christian's fret and are sadden about what we do not have. We charge God foolishly because the neighbor who haven't been to church since last Easter is prospering. Still you feel like that should be you driving the bmw, and going out to the fancy resturants every weekend. Instead you are sitting worrying about how this bill will get paid by friday. When you start complaing and worrying about tomorrows troubles, you are indeed sinning.
This is how christians delay their blessings. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." We are suppose to Give God thanks in everything, good are bad, because this is the will of God concerning you. So when you recieve a bad phone call, give God thanks. When you pass that chapeter quiz, give God thanks. When I run out of gas, still give God thanks. When I get a job, I am supposed to give God thanks.
When you say we will not be thankful in a situation because it is grievious, you are sinning against God. In the old testament God was feed up with all the complaining the Israelites were doing. Even though he continued to supply their need, his anger was kindled against them.
Be thankful for this is the will of God concerning you.

For our Banner assignment we were asked to create a posting. Journalism is my life after Christ of course. If I was strained on an island and I could only bring lets say four physical things it would have to be #1 my bible, #2 my pen with infinite, #3 a notebook with infinite paper and the #4 a cushion chair like the one in the angelos room:) I believe that without these this I would go insane. I love to journal each and everyday just about my thoughts, what I did, what I liked, a quote I admired, anything of interest. When I go back to read what i wrote I amaze myself.
If you was strained on an island and you could bring only four things what would it be and be honest. IF you perfer to to bring your lab top instead of a book than list that.
Be bless, Be mindful and Be inspired.

Writing 4 Christ
Whatever you do in word or deed do all in the name of Jesus Christ to the glory of God Col 3:17. Writing is a way to display my thought and love for my savior Jesus Christ. He has blessed everyone on earth with the opportunity to come to him, and find rest for their soul. There's no one in this world who can love deeper than Christ. So I dedicate my life and this blog to him. He will get the glory out of you visiting this site.
